What’s in a dream?
The recent heatwave in the states and beyond is responsible for a lot of air conditioners working overtime. For those fortunate enough to have access to a swimming pool, they probably spent more time in the cool water. Many of us, I’m sure, found ourselves dreaming of more spring-like weather.

A cloud-like thought bubble floats above his head with the POD Access logo inside it. The logo is tilted on its side as if it’s also enjoying a nice cat nap.]
Cheryl’s dream
Cheryl had a dream the other night, just one of your garden-variety dreams that starts out simple enough but quickly takes a turn for the ultra-weird. First, she was visited by the ghost of Alice Wong. Alice was using Cheryl’s friend Becky’s wheelchair instead of her own, but it was Alice nonetheless. (By the way, Becky is one of the ASL consultants on the POD Access podcast.) In the dream, Cheryl was about seven months pregnant and joyfully talking with Alice about the coming baby. Then, a sudden scene change. The baby had been born, and Thomas stopped by.
“Do you wanna see the baby?” Cheryl asked.
“Of course I do!” No hesitation from Thomas who’s a proud parent himself in the real world and always game for meeting new people. They headed off to the living room.
In the corner of the living room was a play area for the baby enclosed by a little metal fence. The baby wasn’t alone. RouRou, the PodCat was there, lounging on his side, looking like a very tired new cat parent. And the baby, and put that word “baby” in some big quotation marks, was a six-week-old kitten with black fur just like RouRou’s. The baby paced the length of the little fenced area, meowing his little heart out.
The rest of the dream is pretty fuzzy, but there was some general milling about and enjoying meeting the new pod kitten.
In the waking world, POD Access doesn’t have a new mascot. RouRou’s reign is going strong. And Cheryl really isn’t expecting.
Any dream analyzers out there? Feel free to send us your thoughts on the meaning of this dream. We’ll share our own in a future issue. For now, we’ll chalk this one up to Cheryl needing some much deserved rest, it’s summer after all. With that said, POD Access will take off in August so the next issue of the newsletter will be in September.
